Ganadores de los Premios Eisner 2020

Llegó el momento, os dejamos la lista de ganadores de los Premios Eisner 2020

Llegó el momento de los Premios Eisner, esta madrugada se entregaban vía Youtube los famosos galardones de la San Diego Comic-Con. El resultado a sido variado, con Christian Ward, Mariko Tamaki y Stan Sakai como triunfadores, llevándose dos cada uno, por su obra y por su trabajo de manera individual. Los que nos tocan de cerca son los de Emma Ríos a mejor portadista y Paco Roca por la mejor edición de material internacional con La Casa, además el «Retailer Award» de este año se va para la tienda Nostromo de Sevilla, ¡enhorabuena a ambos!.

En resumen digamos que ha estado todo muy repartido en cuanto a variedad de premiados, si nos vamos al mercado podemos decir que el cómic independiente ha arrasado a las dos grandes sin miramientos, esperemos ver publicadas por aquí las series que todavía no lo han sido.

Ole! Enhorabuena a todos los ganadores y en especial a los españoles: Emma Rios, Paco Roca y Librería Nostromo (Segunda librería española que lo gana, después de Akira Comics, si no me equivoco!).
La verdad es que es una pena que en algunas secciones haya obras excelentes que se quedan sin premio, pero así en general no veo ninguna injusticia.

Y ya sorprenden las nominaciones, salvando Hulk pero ya tuvo otra el año pasado no? Bastante premio es.

Marvel es creativamente un erial, entretenimiento de perfil bajo. Primero se perdieron los mejores dibujantes y ahora los guionistas, o se les trae de vuelta de Image como hace 15 años o mal vamos

Pero si Dave Stewart gano el premio a mejor colorista y el estaba nominado por silver surfer black y Spider man, ademas de por otras obras obviamente.

Primero de todo, felicitar a los premiados, estoy seguro de que todos ellos deben ser de los mejores artistas de este noveno arte, cada uno en su campo.

A continuación, tres reflexiones, y a la vez, preguntas, por si puedo estar equivocado, al fin y al cabo, hace años que me desconecté de los comics, y sólo recientemente he vuelto a ellos:

1- tras leer por encima la lista de los premiados, me llamó la atención algo sobre ella, y luego lo he comprobado caso por caso, y he visto que estaba en lo cierto. De los premiados por los Eisner, 18 son mujeres, y 12 hombres, y luego hay un tandem de Neil Gaiman – Colleen Doran. Por lo que he estado viendo estos últimos meses, en estos últimos 15 años se ha pasado de una presencia casi testimonial de la mujer en el comic a que haya subido bastante la cantidad de autoras (guionistas y dibujantes) en el medio, lo cual celebro, ya era hora.
En todo caso, no sé qué porcentaje representan actualmente respecto al total de artistas y creadores de cómic. Si aun son una clara minoría (cosa que espero que no), entonces podría dar la impresión de que los Eisner se hayan concedido basados en algún tipo de discriminación positiva o a causa del meetoo, lo cual sería tan injusto para hombres (no ser premiados por la necesidad de satisfacer cuotas de lo políticamente correcto), como para las mujeres (ser premiadas por la necesidad de satisfacer cuotas de lo políticamente correcto), con lo cual los Eisner serían efectivamente «como los oscar, pero del cómic», es decir, premios injustos, políticos y tendenciosos. Vamos, espero equivocarme, si es así, que alguien me ilumine, please.

2- El premio The House (La casa), de Paco Roca, por el nombre «Mejor edición norteamericana de material internacional», no parece premiar a la labor de este genial creador, si no a la editorial Fantagraphics por la edición que han hecho de este trabajo de Paco Roca (no sé si por ser muy respetuosa con el material original o por qué), alguien me puede aclarar si es así?. Supongo que si el premio fuera para el cómic de Paco, no se hablaría de «mejor edición», si no de «mejor comic» internacional. Espero que el premio se refiera a la labor de Paco, me alegraría mucho por él y se lo merece.

3- Curioso que exista además otro premio parecido al último, pero que se llame «Mejor edición norteamericana de material internacional (Asia)». Por qué no uno para Europa?, o África? o Oceanía? Curiosos estos premios, efectivamente demasiado parecidos a los Oscar.

Perfecto, muchas gracias por tu explicación, intentaré leer algunas de las obras premiadas, que no dudo de que estén muy bien. Me alegro de que como dices, las mujeres estén entrando con tanta fuerza en el cómic últimamente, y supongo que esto provocará que entren nuevos tipos de historias más allá de los cómics de superhéroes (los nominados y ganadores de los Eisner de este año parecen una buena muestra), y también atraerá nuevas lectoras, todo ello fundamental para que el cómic pueda equiparse realmente a cualquier otro medio creativo y artístico.
