SDCC 2010: Premios Eisner ’10

Con todos ustedes, los ganadores de los premios Eisner ’10, recién salidos del horno de la Convención del Cómic de San Diego… ¿Triunfadores de la velada? Pues unos cuantos: Mazzucchelli y su Asterios Polyp, Tatsumi y Una vida errante, Brubaker y su Capitán América, J.H. Williams III y su Detective Comics, y Kirkman con sus Muertos vivientes. ¿El WTF!? Pues Chew como mejor serie nueva… está entretenida, pero no hay quien se lo crea. Ni remotamente.

pues  la culpa de que gaanra este año lso muertos viviens es que fables bajo un poco su nivel, lo del gran crossover no le ayudo mucho…….

Servidor está un poco decepcionado con los premios este año.
Estaba claro que Asterios iba a quedar  en buen lugar, pero conseguir el premio hasta al mejor nuevo album me parace algo excesivo. Creo que la obra está bien, pero tampoco presenta nada que no hayamos visto antes (es tipo Blankets, American Splendor, etc). Tampoco comparto los premios a Brubaker, puesto que en el año pasado no hizo nada que no haya hecho mejor Waid en Irreedimable. Y no darle el premio al mejor nº único a Unwritten me parece un tongo de cuidado. Y lo dice álguien que se ha leído todos los cómics de esa categoría.
Que la mejor adaptación sea The Hunter antes que Farenheitt me parece también algo discutible. En el apartado positivo me alegro por The Walking Dead y Beats of Burden. La primera porque se lo merecía desde hace tiempo y la segunda porque es el descubrimiento del año, aunque los personajes se creasen hace unos años.
Las conclusiones que saco de estos premios es que galardonan más al nombre que al trabajo (TWD ha tenido que esperar 75 números para ser premiada, Brubaker lo consigue más por su trayectoria que por los meritos de ese año y la mayoría de los premiados son autores consolidados). Pero sobre todo creo que el criterio de los jueces es cada año que pasa preocupantemente más bajo.

Reconozco que J H Willimas III es un muy buen dibujante, pero no lo veo tan fuera de serie como proclama mucha gente.

Creo que la gran perdedora del año ha sido DC, ¿no? y estos premios vienen a confirmar la defunción de Vertigo como serie de grandes obras.

Pues si losmuertos vivientes se ganaron este año dado que  fables dio el bajon, los añospasados fables arraso  dado que era mejor historia……. pero  segun se  va a mejorar al historia despues de ese feo crossover……….

Yo creo que si hablamos de defunción, esta debería ser la defunción de la imparcialidad del jurado. Chew no es mejor que The Unwritten lo mires por donde lo mires, ni el número del Capi lo supera al número de Kipling. Si a eso le sumas el típico Eisner técnico (mejor color, mejor rotulista …) que sí ha conseguido, tienes los 2 ó 3 premios Eisner que Vertigo estaba consiguiendo durante las últimas ediciones.
Ahora bien, para que esto pase necesitas a un jurado en condiciones que conozca minimamente el mundillo con profundidad, que lea de todo (parece que solo conocen Marvel) y que no vote porque le suena el nombre del nominado o de la obra.

Pues  no creo que solo lean marvel de ser asi, el mejor colorista laura amrtin, el mejor dibujante mc nives,mejores portadas salvador laroca……….asi que no creo que solo lean marvel…………….sino incognito  se hubiera llebavado el premio tambien………….

Comparto bastante el reparto de premios. Kirkman necesitaba un reconocimiento, y lo tiene a través de sus Muertos Vivientes, aunque quizás huela un poco a que se lleva el premio ahora que tiene reconocimiento y salta a la tele.
 
J.H. Williams hace los cómics más bonitos del mercado, eso es innegable.
 
Y entre las buenas críticas y los premios, tendré que animarme con Chew, Asterios Polyp y Beast of Burden.

Por lo que se del Asterios, no tiene nada que ver con Blankets ni American Splendor. Diantres, ni siquiera esas dos se parecen nada entre sí.

Los dos son slice of live, relatan las manías y problemas de su protagonista de forma bastante egocéntrica, son costumbristas, autobiográficos … Me reafirmo, Asterios es un Blankets contado a modo de Chris Ware.

The Walking Dead merecidisimo el premio. Lo del numero del Capi de Bru, pues lo mismo. Y me alegro muchisimo por Mazz, leyenda viviente que este año ha arrasado. Y por supuesto, Cameron Stewart, ese dibujante que mucha gente tilda de «mediocre»… pero que es una puta maquina.
